The C-Max Hybrid does offer up solid acceleration thanks to a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine and AC synchronous electric motor combination. The internal combustion mill is good for I do think this subreddit understates the widespread issues with the 2013 and 2014 model's transmissions. I saw a failure rate published somewhere of 70ish percent of 2013 transmissions. I can't imagine 2014 was better. The transmission on my 2015 was noticably louder between the 30k-56k miles that I had the car.
